                                       SUBJECT QUESTIONS

1     subject question asks about the subject of a sentence.

                             We use “Who”,”What?” or “Which?”.

           Answer                                                       Question

The wind broke the window.                 What broke the window?

Lara is writing an e-mail.                      Who is writing an e-mail?

The Brown cat ate the liver.                 Which cat ate the liver?

*Subject questions have the same word order as positive sentences.

**We don't use auxiliary verbs in subject questions.

What made that noise? NOT What did make that noise?

Which car won the big race? NOT Which car did win the big race?

                         Make questions      (dont forget question mark "?")

1 My key is on the table.

 

2 Marvin speaks perfect English.

 

3 Mum wasn’t at home.
