These are the remains of Turkish rock houses. Thousands of years ago, in the region of Cappadocia, people built a city with rock houses and tunnels. Nowadays most of what can be found are ruins but there are also museums, hotels and houses.
These are wooden frame houses in Germany. This was a common type of architecture from the twelfth to nineteenth century, but after WW II bombings they are now more common in small towns and villages. The spaces between the frame are filled with wattle and daub, brick or ruble.
This is a Cambodian Khmer house. It is made of wood and raised by stilts that protect it from the floods during the rainy season. As there is usually no electricity they rely on natural ventilation. The area below the house is usually used for storage during the dry season.
