GRANDMAS DO ALL THE COOKING AT THIS NEW YORK RESTAURANT

We all believe that the food in the best restaurants isn’t as good as grandma’s home cooking – right? 2.1. He decided to employ grandmothers from all over the world to cook. It all started about 12 years ago. The owner, James Scaravella, wasn’t satisfied with the food served in his restaurant. 2.2. It said: “Italian restaurant is looking for grandmothers to cook regional dishes.” A few women answered his ad and since then, the restaurant has been very successful. With time, the kitchen staff has grown bigger. 2.3. They come from different countries such as Nigeria, Poland or Argentina. But in this female team there is one grandfather, Giuseppe Freya, who is a pasta expert. Of course, so many passionate cooks in one kitchen may cause problems. 2.4. Then James makes the decision for them and the problem is solved.

Figment is a website which organizes competitions for amateur writers. Everybody who registers and sends in a story can also give their opinion about the other stories by clicking “laugh”, “cry” or “wow”. At the end of each month, Figment also presents the latest short stories by well-known authors together with extra information on what inspired them.

NaNoWriMo is a site that offers an exciting challenge to teenagers. Each November young authors are given thirty days to write a 50,000-word novel. As soon as they have one chapter ready they send it to the website, which publishes it. The great thing is that some famous authors post their comments about the young writers’ stories. They tell the teenage competitors what they should correct or work on before publishing the rest of their book.

Wattpad is the largest online reading platform, so it can be called the YouTube of writing. The site has 25 million members and that number is still growing. On the site teenagers can find old classical literature and they can publish their own stories. Some writers, who are now world famous, posted their first stories on Wattpad.

When she jumped into the water, suddenly she felt truly alive. Penny’s problem could be similar to yours. You sometimes feel you should do something but you’re worried it’s too hard for you. Have you of 'Girls Scouts of Troop 6,000'? It is not a regular troop. This one consists of the girls from a homeless shelter in New York City. The founder of the troop, Giselle Burgess, to start 'Girls Scouts 6,000' in February 2017 when she and her daughters homeless one day and ended up in the shelter. She wanted such girls to spend time caring, respecting and helping others. So far, the girls have first aid and scouting history. Giselle has never because she knows that being homeless is just a temporary situation.

Oceniane są: umiejętność pełnego przekazania informacji, spójność, bogactwo językowe oraz poprawność językowa.
