An enormous giant (come) into the room and (sit) down.
On the table there (be) a hen and a golden harp.
”Lay” (say) the giant.
The hen (lay) an egg-it was made of gold.
”Sing” (say) the giant.
The harp (begin) to sing.
Soon the giant (be: was / were) asleep.

Jack

jump) out of the cupboard.
He (take) the hen and the harp.
Suddenly the harp (sing) “Help,master!”
The giant (shout), “Fee,fi,fo,fum!”.
Jack (run) and (start) to climb down the beanstalk.
The giant (come) down after him.
Jack (shout) “Mother,help!”
Jack’s mother (take) an axe and (chop) down the beanstalk.
The giant (fall) and (crash) to the ground.
Nobody ever (see) him again.
With the golden eggs and the magic harp Jack and his mother (live)
happily ever after.
