Lizard Island

It was early morning when Sam ,Sue, Bill and Mr Fox their teacher from school arrived at the island. The sun was shining as they walked towards Lizard mountain. When they arrived at the bottom they stopped and had some breakfast. Sam's mom had packed plenty of ham sandwiches in his backpack because she knew it was going to be a long day for the children. Mr Fox had told them a little of the history of the island earlier in the week, when they planned the school trip. Sue had always wanted to visit there as she could see it from her bedroom window but had never got the opertunity to go.The clouds turned dark as they started to climb the mountain but luckily they made it to the top before the rain started. At the top there was a large rock the shape of a Lizard and Mr Fox explained that was how the mountain and the island had got it's name in the past. On the way back down it started to rain heavily and Mr Fox spotted a cave near by and they all ranfor shelter until it stopped. Mr Fox built a fire from dry kindling they collected in the cave and they all sat around it asthey told stories of pirates and hidden treasure. When the storm finished they went down the mountain to the small sailing boat and sailed back to the mainland sad to leave but they had agreat time.
