Minburi Market

Close to my home we have one of the biggest markets in Bangkok, its called Minburi market. They sell just about everything there poultry, pets, toys, clothes, meat, fruit and vegetables and all household items just to name a few.

They also have sit down areas where you can buy all types of Thai foods from every area of Thailand and some foreign dishes. My mom is from Patalung in the South of Thailand and she usually gets a dish called Masaman Curry. I really like this dish it has chicken, potatoes and onion but most of all it has a very special tasting sauce.

I love to go there on a Saturday morning early, because if you get there late, there are many people and its hard to get around. We usually go to the pet section first as my mom is a pet lover and we bought a cat and a rabbit recently at the market. Mom buys a Kilo of Chicken, pork and beef in the meat section which last us about a week. Then she buys fruit, vegetables and rice, she says the prices are cheaper than any supermarket. Finally we go to the bakery stalls and get a cake for after Sunday lunch. Its a great morning out and we really look forward to it every week.
