FROM SPAIN WITH LOVE: BARNACLES : YUMMY!! Barnacles or "percebes" are found solely on Northern Spain�s Atlantic coast, principally in Galicia They are eaten moderately (the reason? They have astronomical prices!) and in some areas there�s no tradition of consuming them. They grow on wave-beaten rocks and it's very dangerous to catch them. They are prepared always fresh by boiling them in salty (or better still salt) water for 4-5 minutes. Watch a video which shows how "percebeiros" (people who catch barnacles) work.
