It is very common for people to consider themselves superior animals, simply because we are the masters and they, in cases, are under our control. This is not true, of course, of wild animals, which have more freedom the average inhabitant of a big city. Our superiority is based on the fact that we posses reason and this gives us control over ourselves and over nature.
